In December India’s largest airline- IndiGo had plunged into crisis after implementation of stricter pilot-rest and duty-hour norms triggered a massive pilot shortage. The disruption led to over 1000 cancelled flights, widespread chaos and thousands of stranded passengers. As confidence eroded, shares of IndiGo’s parent InterGlobe Aviation fell by almost 15 percent within the week, with regulators launching investigations and issuing show-cause notices.
With a market cap of Rs 1,90,427 crore, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd(Indigo) the parent company of IndiGo has long been a favourite among India’s top mutual fund houses. Canara MF held about 20,18,694 shares of Interglobal Aviation, Out of which the top 3 funds holding the most number of shares were- 4,41,117 shares with Canara Robeco Large Cap Fund, 3,45,011 shares with Canara Robeco Flexi Cap Fund and 2,63,000 with Canara Robeco ELSS Tax Saver.The total value of all Indigo shares managed by Canara Robeco in November 2025 amounted to more than Rs 997 Cr.
Motilal Oswal
Motilal Oswal held 6,24,257 shares of Indigo, out of which the top 3 funds holding the most number of shares were- Motilal Oswal Multicap Fund with 2,25,835 shares, Motilal Oswal Nifty 200 Momentum 30 Index Fund with 83,652, and Motilal Oswal Large Cap Fund with 80,000. The total value of all Indigo shares managed by Motilal Oswal in November 2025 amounted to more than Rs 308 Cr.
Life Insurance Corporation (LIC)
LIC MF held about 1,72,732 shares of Indigo in November 2025, out of which 48,775 shares were in LIC MF Flexi Cap Fund, 41,263 in LIC MF Multi Cap Fund and 31,283 in LIC MF Dividend Yield Fund. The total value of all Indigo shares managed by LIC in November 2025 amounted to more than Rs 85 Cr.
