Lewis Hamilton shared he shed a tear when Arsenal clinched the Premier League title.
Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth secured the title for the Gunners with a game to spare.
The seven-time Formula One world champion spoke about his memories of supporting the club and the emotions of winning the title.
Hamilton said: “Like for everyone, [I was] very emotional. I shed a tear.
“I was five years old, I used to play around Stevenage way, around the corner with friends.
“I was the only black kid in the area out of the kids I was playing with, and I was trying to fit in.
“Everyone supported different teams, West Ham, Tottenham, Manchester.
“I was bouncing around all these teams when I was like four or five years old depending on who I was with.”

The F1 star continued: “I remember my sister, I messaged her the other day, she was walking me home and asked me who I supported and then gave me a dig in my arm and said ‘we have to support Arsenal’.
“We had a laugh yesterday about it.”
The title is Arsenal’s first in 22 years, coming after numerous near misses.
Hamilton added: “We have had so many close moments and to finally get it was like ‘wow’.

“A lot of emotion came out for me, and I’m sure for a lot of people.
“I’m so happy and proud of the team. Obviously, Arsene [Wenger] was great. I think the direction they have gone in the past couple of years has been fantastic.
“Very inspired by what they have done. Think they can go from strength to strength from here.”
Arsenal are now focused on winning their first-ever Champions League as they head to Budapest on May 30.

Standing in their way are defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, with a thrilling contest in store.
Hamilton shared that he took inspiration from Arsenal’s success, saying: “I’m always looking for other leaders that are doing great things and how they work with teams.
“I’m always learning how I can be a better colleague, a better teammate to the people around me.
“How I can extract more from myself but also from the groups that I get to work with because teamwork really does make the dream work – it’s a real thing.”
Hamilton is in action this weekend, chasing his first win in a Ferrari at the Canadian Grand Prix.
The F1 star sits in joint fourth with his compatriot Lando Norris, with both drivers sitting on 51 points.
