A great boon has come to Philadelphia.
If you’ve been living under a rock, with no internet, and no human interactions in the Philadelphia area, I’m happy to tell you that LeBron James has taken his talents to our Philadelphia 76ers.

I’m honored to be the first to tell you. With that, this is one of the biggest signings in Philadelphia history. Enough general Philly rambling, though. This is a very serious blog for serious Eagles fans, so let’s break down how this affects the Eagles.
Vibes are better than ever in Philadelphia.
People’s happiness is spilling out into the streets. The energy is high. How does this help the Eagles? Fans are going to be more passionate. While Philly fans never need an excuse to boo the other team (or our own), how harshly they boo is affected by the city’s energy. I expect some next-level boos and cheers for the competitors and Eagles, respectively, starting the season. That first game LeBron attends is going to have a post-Super Bowl win type atmosphere.
We also gain another supporter of Jalen Hurts. LeBron James famously posted, “Yeah like they were saying. Anybody would look great at QB for the Eagles… yeah ooook. HATERS MAN!! Jalen Hurts is SPECIAL. 🤡’s.” Listen, if you’re an Eagles fan, you’ve seen the way the media has treated QB1. We went over how execs, scouts, and others around the league view Hurts, and it was disrespectful to say the least. Having another person in Jalen’s corner is a positive.
Luckily, we get some added synergy with him in Philadelphia.

The LeBron effect also goes a little deeper. If Philly does feature a sports equinox, players may be more likely to take team-friendly deals to stay. Why not stay in a city that has multiple championship-level teams? Players stand to make a lot of money off advertising when they win. Even more so if they can have a crossover featuring two distinct champions; this money also won’t affect cap space so that it would be a win-win for players and teams.
It takes some pressure off the Eagles team. Will it last for long? Probably not. Just enjoy the ride for now. Philadelphia is and will always be a football city. That said, people are talking more about the Sixers even with training camp just started. It’s impossible to talk about the Sixers and the Eagles at the same time. It would sound like incomprehensible garbled nonsense anyway.
Players like Riq Woolen and Makai Lemon are no longer the default when asked about “Philadelphia’s newest player.” They also won’t have as much responsibility. Also, if things don’t go great for those players, the Sixers start playing later in that season. LeBron James is a lightning rod for conversation, both positive and negative. Speaking of players that aren’t brand new but are relatively new.
Newer Eagles players are now vets in comparison. Remember when the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley? Now and then, your team will make a signing or trade for a prolific player. When that happens, you wonder how they’ll fit into the city.
Well, Saquon is doing his best to make LeBron feel comfortable; he already reached out to see if he wanted to play golf.

Even players still on their rookie contract, like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, look like hardened vets. Jalen Carter just signed his second contract, the most lucrative contract for a defensive lineman in NFL history.
You don’t question how they’ll fit with the team. There are more questions about how the Sixers’ closing lineup will look.

Anyway, it was touched on at the start, but training camp is starting.
Will we get LeBron Eagles crossover anymore? Hopefully.
If not, we’ll get to dive into football season fully.
