Lakeville police are investigating after a resident found a pipe bomb Saturday afternoon near a town pond, the department said.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., police were notified about a bomb found beside Egger Bog Pond, located off of Highland Road, the Lakeville Police Department said in a press release. The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad then responded and confirmed that it was a PVC pipe bomb.
State Police safely disposed of the bomb, according to Lakeville police. The incident is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Lakeville Police Detective Robert Schiffer at [email protected] or the department’s Detective Division at 508-947-4422.
