Kilikanoon Wines unveils trio of must-experience events for Clare Valley Gourmet Week

Australia’s longest running wine and food festival is returning to the Clare Valley, for four days of gourmet food and delectable wines, from May 15-18.

Among the standout events, Kilikanoon Wines is hosting a trio of immersive experiences set against the stunning Skilly Hills backdrop, including a fire-driven degustation, a vibrant fire and wine festival and rare vertical tasting of one of Australia’s most celebrated Shiraz wines.

“At Kilikanoon, our events are all about celebrating great wine alongside the things that elevate it most — exceptional food and wonderful company,” said Nicole Simon, Cellar Door Manager.

“This year marks an exciting step forward with our Fire & Wine Festival.”

“By opening up the Tregea Cellar, we’ve created space to expand the experience and host a vibrant artisan market across both Saturday and Sunday.”

From an intimate fire-fuelled degustation to a lively two-day festival and a rare tasting of one of Australia’s most celebrated Shiraz wines, the winery’s lineup is designed to redefine what the gourmet festival experience can look like.

Flavours of Fire Degustation

One of the most anticipated events is their Flavours of Fire Degustation, an intimate evening that pairs premium wines with a dramatic fire-driven dining experience on Saturday night. Guests will begin the night outdoors with Vouvray by firelight, enjoying alfresco canapés as chefs cook over flame, coal and smoke against the scenic Skilly Hills backdrop.

From there the evening moves into the Tregea Cellar, Kilikanoon’s original winery, where generous family-style courses will highlight local seasonal produce, each dish thoughtfully paired with the winery’s award-winning wines.

“The Flavours of Fire Degustation will be truly unforgettable, bringing together our wines with the talent of three exceptional chefs for a one-of-a-kind dining experience,” Nicole said.

Guests will also be given access to exclusive wine offerings, including limited and unreleased wines, available only for attendees and not offered anywhere else.

Fire & Wine Festival

Across both Saturday and Sunday, Kilikanoon will throw open the doors of the historic Tregea Cellar for the Fire & Wine Festival, transforming the space into a buzzing hub of food, wine and live entertainment.

The two-day market is free entry, family-friendly, and packed with artisan stalls, live music and interactive experiences. The event is a day, or let’s be real a weekend, out for the whole family not just the wine connoisseurs.

Bring your family or friends (or both) and explore all the local artisan market stalls, live music throughout, and sample flame-cooked regional produce prepared by Locale Catering and Barbecue Revolution at open-fire cooking stations.

Oracle Vertical Tasting

For serious wine enthusiasts, the Oracle Vertical Tasting offers a rare opportunity to explore three consecutive vintages of Kilikanoon’s flagship Oracle Shiraz – 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Hosted by international wine judge Travis Fuller, the tasting offers insight into the winemaking philosophy and seasonal influences behind one of Australia’s most celebrated Shiraz wines, once crowned Best Shiraz in the World.

“It is always a treat to be able to look at the past, present and future of one of Australia’s iconic Shirazes,” said Travis.

“The Oracle represents the pure power and elegance that can be achieved in the Clare Valley when crafted from our most celebrated vineyards.“

With limited seats available, the tasting is expected to sell quickly.
