Keir Starmer is now addressing journalists outside No.10.

David Lammy and senior Starmer loyalists are gathering outside No.10 Downing Street as pressure grows on the UK Prime Minister to leave office.

A podium and public address system has been set up and the BBC is reporting that it will be a “resignation statement”.

“We’re awaiting a speech apparently a resignation speech from Prime MInister Keir Starmer,” the BBC reports.

It comes as likely successor Andy Burnham is preparing to farewell staffers in his Mayoral office at Greater Manchester.
