Karnataka MLC polls: Congress shifts MLAs to resort to prevent cross-voting

Resort politics has returned to Karnataka as the ruling Congress party prepares to shift its MLAs to a private resort on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This precautionary move comes ahead of the crucial Legislative Council elections scheduled for June 18. The party aims to safeguard its legislators and prevent any potential poaching or cross-voting. While the Congress comfortably holds the numbers to secure four seats, it has fielded a fifth candidate, making the contest highly competitive. Following a legislature party meeting, the MLAs will be housed at the resort before being brought directly to the Vidhana Soudha on polling day to ensure the flock remains united.
