Karachi Kings Eliminate Quetta Gladiators to Stay Alive in PSL 11

Karachi Kings took a major step towards the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) playoffs after crushing Quetta Gladiators by nine wickets at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing 196, Karachi produced one of their best batting displays of the season and reached the target in the 19th over with only one wicket down.

The chase was led by captain David Warner and Reeza Hendricks, who put Quetta’s bowlers under pressure for most of the innings. Karachi got off to a strong start through Warner and Jason Roy, with the pair adding 58 runs before Jahandad Khan broke the stand by dismissing Roy for 20 off 15 balls.

That wicket did little to slow Karachi down. Hendricks joined Warner and the two batters took full control of the chase with a dominant partnership that all but sealed the result.

Warner anchored the innings superbly and remained unbeaten on 89 off 48 deliveries, striking 10 fours and four sixes. Hendricks matched him at the other end with a fluent 87 not out off 48 balls, which included eight fours and four sixes. Their stand carried Karachi past 100, then 150, before taking the side comfortably over the finish line.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators recovered well from a disastrous start to post 195/6 in their 20 overs.

Their innings could hardly have begun worse, with Hasan Ali striking twice in the opening over to remove Shamyl Hussain and Khawaja Nafay for ducks.

After that early collapse, Quetta rebuilt through Saud Shakeel and Rilee Rossouw, who launched a strong counterattack and added 147 runs for the third wicket. Rossouw was the main aggressor and hammered 90 off 54 balls with eight fours and six sixes, while Saud made 57 off 34 deliveries, hitting nine fours.

The partnership finally ended when Rizwanullah dismissed Saud in the 15th over. Rossouw kept attacking for a brief period but was later removed by Abbas Afridi, leaving Quetta unable to push beyond the 200-run mark.

Late wickets further hurt their finish, although Dinesh Chandimal stayed unbeaten on 30 off 17 balls to give the total some respectability.

For Karachi Kings, Hasan Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Rizwanullah picked up two wickets each.
