Irshad Bhatti’s Demeaning Questions to Meera Disappoint Fans

Meera is a well-known Pakistani actress who is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Psycho, which is set to release on Eid ul Adha. Shaan Shahid stars as the male lead alongside Meera, while she plays the titular role—similar to her performance in Baaji, directed by Saqib Malik. These days, she is appearing in various interviews and podcasts to promote her film.

Recently, Meera appeared on a podcast hosted by Irshad Bhatti, where his series of controversial and demeaning questions has gone viral on social media. During the interview, Meera struggled to respond to several of them.

Irshad Bhatti asked questions to Meera such as: “Sangeeta claimed she caught you and Saud red-handed. Is it true that you wanted to marry Humayun Saeed? Reema Khan and Sahiba Afzal are married, but you are still unmarried—why? What is the matter between you and Captain Naveed and Ateeq?”

In response, Meera tried to steer the conversation back to her film, saying, “I am involved in Psycho, its characters, it has a great cast like Javed Sheikh and Shaan, and I want people to watch the film.” However, Bhatti continued with further remarks, questioning what audiences would learn from the film. He also brought up a her past controversy in USA where she was sent to the mental health institute in New York after she misbehaved with the Americans. He also mentioned her mother’s statement against Meera related to her UK visa. Bhatti further investigated Meera about the funds she took for building a hospital. He constantly called her a psycho. Despite repeated demeaning questions, Meera chose not to engage and eventually walked out of the interview. Watch here:

Mishi Khan has also expressed her disappointment with senior journalist Irshad Bhatti for his degrading questions directed at the Baaji actor and for repeatedly calling her “Psycho” during the podcast. Mishi said, “It’s after many years that Meera’s film is finally being released, and she was invited by two renowned digital creators, Rehan Tariq and Irshad Bhatti. It’s disappointing to see the kind of questions she was asked. You are educated people—ask about growth, career, and films instead of digging into the past. Please come up with better questions and upgrade yourselves. Have you ever seen Indian interviewers asking such questions from their celebrities? You were mocking her and asking ridiculous things. I appreciate Meera for staying calm. Thank God I wasn’t in her place—I would have taught you a lesson.”

Social media users are also bashing Irshad Bhatti for making fun of Meera and digging her past controversies. Read here:
