Inspired by the five elements of nature, this wedding was steeped in elegance and glamour

Rooted in nature and brought to life through thoughtful design, Sejal and Sidharth’s wedding unfolded as a celebration of their story, expressed through five elements: Sky, Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Event Casa and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Design HQ, the festivities brought together distinct moods and aesthetics under the concept ‘5 Chapters. 5 Forces. One Story.’, balancing meaningful symbolism with understated elegance.

For Ashi Tanwar and Shobhit Jain of Event Casa, the vision was to create a celebration that felt personal without being overly elaborate. “They wanted the décor to feel effortless and aesthetic, but still have a certain richness to it. From the dreaminess of the Sky to the rootedness of Earth, the lightness of Air, the ease of Water, and finally the warmth of Fire, every element had its own feeling and gave us a different direction to work with,” they share. Working alongside Design HQ, the team translated this vision into five distinct settings, connected by a cohesive design sensibility.

The festivities opened with a Welcome Dinner following the theme ‘Sky – Written in the Stars’, an ethereal celebration with a dreamy, celestial aesthetic. Starry details and an atmospheric setting evoked the feeling of a love story written in the heavens, setting a romantic tone for the wedding celebrations.

For Mayra, the theme was ‘Earth – Padharo Mhare Des’; the mood turned to heritage and belonging. Drawing from the richness of Indian traditions, the celebration embraced a warm, welcoming aesthetic that felt rooted in culture and close to home, while retaining a sense of understated elegance.

‘Air – Coalescence’, that is, the Sangeet, introduced a contemporary, free-flowing mood. The setting felt lighter and more open yet vibrant, with a graceful visual language that brought a sense of movement to the festivities. This was followed by ‘Water – Flow’ Welcome Lunch, a relaxed celebration defined by harmony and ease. Its softer, more fluid atmosphere inspired by the ocean offered a natural contrast to the preceding events without disrupting the overall design narrative.

The final chapter, the wedding, ‘Fire – The Alignment’, brought the celebrations to a meaningful close. With fire holding a central place in Indian wedding rituals, the occasion carried a sense of reverence and significance. Its warm ambience made for a fitting culmination to the couple’s five-part wedding story.

Reflecting on the creative direction, Ashi and Shobhit explain, “We didn’t want to make the elements too obvious in the décor. It was more about taking the feeling of each one and letting that guide the colours, details and mood of the space. So even though every setting looked and felt different, there was still a connection running through all of them.”
