Lipa and Turner’s honeymoon has also been the source of a rush to Google “the Amalfi coast,” with an increase of 3,250 percent during their honeymoon. Images of the newlyweds amid the sea, spritzes, and crystal-clear waters went viral on social media in a matter of hours. Positano, during the same period, saw a 248 percent increase in interest, while the Villa TreVille Beach Club has become the most talked-about destination: a mix of privacy, glamour, and natural backdrops that seem tailor-made for Instagram.
In Rome, Lipa and Turner were photographed at the Trevi Fountain in the evening, after paying for a ticket to get closer to the monument—prompting internet searches for the landmark to increase by 2,600 percent. In Naples, however, the couple chose one of the city’s most iconic pizzerias: Da Concettina ai Tre Santi, in the Rione Sanità neighborhood. The place dates back to 1951, when Concettina used to fry pizzas on the street corner, and today it’s a gastronomic and cultural beacon. Searches for the pizzeria have risen by 90 percent, while those for Naples have surged by 1,600. Tech companies, take note: the Dua Lipa effect is real.
