A few months ago, Imran Abbas attended the Jashn e Rekhta event, hosted by Adeel Hashmi. In the discussion with the host, he opened up about his struggles with Urdu Language in India due to their different dialect than the original one.

Imran Abbas said, “Indians pronounce Urdu alphabet ‘Khay’ differently due to the difference in Hindi text, and they say ‘Ki’ instead of ‘Kay’. When I was doing my first film with Bipasha Basu, they asked me to pronounce ‘Ki’ instead of ‘Kay’ but I said I will say ‘Kay’, there was a debate on this. Also, in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Anushka Sharma, we were facing difficulty in the pronunciation because of different punctuations in both the dialects, there was different pronunciation of one word ‘Bewaquf’, we were prounouncing ‘Bewaquf’, they were saying it ‘Bewakhuf’. We had these small differences, and I think this change of dialect shows the diversity of different regions and we should appreciate it.” Watch here:
