HYROX returns to Abu Dhabi this weekend, with the fitness competition expanding from a one-day event to three days of racing at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
The event runs from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, October 25, across Halls 7 to 10. Last year’s inaugural Abu Dhabi race took place on July 19, 2025, at the same venue.
This year’s competition begins with a women-only race day on Friday. Only female athletes and spectators will be permitted inside the venue, with racing starting at 4pm.
The opening programme includes women’s singles, doubles, Pro categories and relay competitions.
Saturday’s schedule begins at 10am with men’s individual and adaptive races. Women’s and men’s Pro divisions follow in the afternoon, before mixed doubles competitors take to the course in the evening.
Sunday features women’s individual and adaptive races, men’s and women’s doubles, Pro doubles and relay competitions to finish the weekend.
The HYROX Abu Dhabi race schedule remains provisional, with individual starting times confirmed closer to the event.
What is HYROX?
HYROX combines running with functional fitness exercises. Competitors complete eight 1km runs, each followed by a workout station.
The eight stations include the SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls.
The HYROX race format is consistent across its international events, allowing athletes to compare finishing times.
Participants can compete individually in Open or Pro divisions, in pairs or as part of a four-person relay team.
