Earlier, the franchise had already made headlines with a series of high-profile signings at the PSL draft. Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne was confirmed as one of the marquee overseas names, while Pakistan star Saim Ayub, currently the world’s No. 1 ICC-ranked T20 all-rounder, was snapped up as the most expensive Pakistani player in PSL history.
Saim Ayub was signed in the Platinum category for a record Rs. 12.6 crore, underlining Hyderabad’s intent to build a title-contending squad from the outset. The Kingsmen further strengthened their roster by acquiring Usman Khan for Rs. 4.62 crore in the Diamond category, Maaz Sadaqat for Rs. 3.5 crore as an Emerging Player, and Akif Javed for Rs. 1.96 crore in the Gold category.
Beyond player recruitment, Hyderabad have also moved swiftly to assemble an experienced backroom staff. Former Australia fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been appointed head coach, leading an international coaching setup. Grant Bradburn will serve as fielding coach, Craig White has been named assistant coach, while Hanif Malik will oversee batting. Zac Martin will be responsible for strength and conditioning.
With a distinctive identity, star-studded squad, and seasoned coaching group in place, the Hyderabad Kingsmen have laid down an early marker as they prepare for their maiden PSL season.
