HBO Max Australia secures HEATED RIVALRY season two rights

HBO Max Australia has doubled down on one of this year’s breakout imports, locking in the local rights to season two of Heated Rivalry—the Canadian drama that’s been building a loyal following on both sides of the Pacific.

Based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling Game Changers novels, the series is produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment in association with Bell Media’s Crave, and created by award-winning writer-director Jacob Tierney.

The show charts an eight-year saga of ambition, rivalry and forbidden love between hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, unfolding across six tightly produced episodes.

In a major global sweep, HBO Max USA, along with platforms across Europe (excluding the UK and Ireland, Spain and Turkey) and Latin America, have now secured the rights to both seasons. The expansion continues through parts of Asia, with confirmed territories including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Macau, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Season one is still rolling out weekly, streaming Fridays on HBO Max, and will wrap with its finale on Boxing Day (26 December).
