Green Buses or Employment? Sania Saeed Speaks up for Karachi

Sania Saeed is a senior Pakistani television actress known for her versatile acting and powerful performances. She began her career in the late 1980s with theatre. Her notable dramas include Aahat, Sitara Aur Mehrunissa, Zaibunnissa, Sang-e-Mar Mar, Shanakht, Tazeen Se, Meri Guriya, Sang-e-Mah, Ae Dil, and others. Sania was married to director Shahid Shafaat, but they have reportedly parted ways. The senior actor is quite vocal about various social and political issues.

Recently, Sania Saeed attended a press talk event in Karachi where she spoke about multiple issues being faced by the city. She highlighted the need for employment.

Talking about it, she questioned the system for its focus on development rather than employment. Sania Saeed said, “Where will I go after sitting in the Green bus if I have no job? Have you ever thought about how such a huge population will live here in this city which wasn’t even built for this much big population? How will you provide jobs to the people? How will you accommodate them in the economy? How will the youth contribute? Where will I go through Green buses? I don’t go to school or have a job. Nothing will happen through these bus services. Bus services don’t make cities great; people need employment in order to contribute to the economy and earn. Nothing will happen from the Green Line, Orange Line, or Red Line buses.” Here is the link to the video:
