Georgie Tunny has been officially named as the new host of 10 News Weekend, with Network 10 confirming she will step into the role in 2026, formally replacing long-serving presenter Chris Bath.
In a long-expected move, the network announced that the seasoned journalist will take over the weekend bulletin, praising her credibility, sharp news judgement and ease with audiences. Tunny has built a broad media career across The Project, the ABC, Flash, Fox Sports and national radio, becoming a familiar presence in breaking news, sport and entertainment coverage.
According to Network 10, Tunny will lead the bulletin every weekend from 2026 while continuing her reporting duties on 10 News+, as the broadcaster works to strengthen its overall news offering.

Tunny said the support she has received from the newsroom and viewers has been deeply meaningful.
**“The trust the viewers, the News team, and the wider Network 10 community has shown in me throughout my career is incredibly gratifying.
I can’t wait to get started and deliver the news that matters with integrity and heart in 2026.”**
Martin White, VP News, Paramount Australia, said Tunny’s appointment was a strong win for the network.
**“Georgie is a great journo and presenter, and we’re lucky to have her at 10 News.
She’ll do a brilliant job, helping us break down the big stories of the day for Australians every Saturday and Sunday, with her trademark warmth and down-to-earth demeanour.”**
The confirmation comes as Chris Bath prepares to exit the newsroom at the end of 2025, ending a seven-year tenure fronting 10’s national weekend bulletins. Bath has anchored the program since 2017, presenting multiple editions across Saturday and Sunday, in addition to filling in on The Project, fronting election coverage and narrating later seasons of Ambulance Australia.
As previously reported by TV Blackbox, Bath’s departure followed contract discussions that did not progress amid broader cost-cutting at the network. A Network 10 spokesperson publicly thanked Bath for her contribution, noting she would “always be a valued member of the 10 family.”
Georgie Tunny will take over hosting duties on 10 News Weekend from 2026 on Network 10.
