Upcoming gals x otaku anime Gals Can’t Be Kind To Otaku!? has received a trailer and a key visual.
Also revealed were an April 8 broadcast start date and the addition of Jun Kasama, Konomi Kohara, Atsumi Tanezaki, and Emiri Kato to the voice cast lineup.

Gals Can’t Be Kind To Otaku!? is based on the romantic comedy manga written by Norishirochan and drawn by Sakana Uozumi. Yen Press describes the synopsis as such:
Meet Takuya Seo, an otaku who sits behind the popular gals in class, Ijichi and Amane. As people from different “castes”, you wouldn’t expect them to have much in common. But when their worlds collide over a borrowed eraser, Takuya slips up about his favorite anime, and Amane…is rather quick to correct him. She says she’s not a fan, but her familiarity with the series suggests otherwise. Could she be…a fellow geek?!
The manga debuted in 2021 in Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon and has 11 volumes published under the Zenon Comics label as of October 2025. Volume 12 will be released in Japan on March 19, 2026.
