With the launch of the Galaxy S26 series completed, Samsung is now shifting its focus to the next generation of foldable phones. New details about the Galaxy Z Flip8 have surfaced, revealing information about the battery cells that will power the device.
The leak suggests that the upcoming foldable may not bring a battery upgrade compared with its predecessor.
Battery Capacity Details
According to the leak, the Galaxy Z Flip8 will use two battery cells with model numbers EB-BF776 and EB-BF777.
These cells reportedly have rated capacities of 1,150mAh and 3,024mAh, which together total 4,174mAh.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 used a similar setup last year, with cells rated at 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh. Although the split between the cells was slightly different, the overall rated capacity remained the same.
Samsung is expected to market the Galaxy Z Flip8 with a typical battery capacity of 4,300mAh, matching the advertised capacity of the previous model. The difference between rated and typical capacity exists to account for manufacturing variations.
Fold Series May Lead Sales
Recent rumors also suggest that Samsung expects the Galaxy Z Fold8 to outsell the Galaxy Z Flip8.
If that happens, it would be the first time a Fold model becomes more popular than the Flip series. Reports indicate that Samsung may also introduce a third foldable device this year, possibly a wider book-style foldable instead of another Flip FE model.
Camera Setup May Remain the Same
The Galaxy Z Flip8 may also retain the same camera system as earlier models.
Leaked specifications suggest the device will feature a 50MP main camera and a 12MP secondary camera on the outer module, along with a 10MP selfie camera on the inner display.
If accurate, this would match the camera configuration used on both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Galaxy Z Flip6.
