Four Corners returns tonight to ABC and ABC iview with the first instalment of a two-part special examining the Bondi massacre, bringing together firsthand testimony from those directly affected by the attack.
The opening episode, reported by Mark Willacy, presents a detailed account of the events of the December attack, as told by people who were present. Survivors describe the moments that altered their lives, while families of those killed speak about their loss, anger and remembrance of loved ones.
Through these accounts, the program pieces together a comprehensive picture of how the attack unfolded. The episode also explores how Australia continues to live with the consequences of the tragedy and the impact it has had on the nation’s sense of safety.
