Quarterback Drake Maye had a tough outing as the New England Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 29-13, in Super Bowl LX.
Despite passing for 295 yards and throwing two touchdown passes, Maye struggled with ball security, losing a fumble and tossing two interceptions. One of those picks was particularly damaging, as it was returned for a touchdown.
Although Maye performed well during the regular season, former NFL star T.J. Ward would still choose Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix over Maye after watching the Super Bowl.
“This yall MVP candidate Drake Maye? Gimme Bo Nix 10 out of 10 times,” Ward wrote Sunday on X.

Ward had a successful eight-year NFL career, spending three seasons with the Broncos, which might give him a slight bias toward Nix.

People will always compare Maye and Nix because both were selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. They were going to have the chance to face each other in the AFC Championship two weeks ago, but Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Denver’s win over the Buffalo Bills the week prior.
Nix is a solid quarterback, but choosing him over Maye at this point seems far-fetched, especially after Maye finished in second place in MVP voting this season.
