Former Bachelor SAM WOOD charged over alleged DV incident

Sam Wood has been charged following an alleged domestic violence incident in Noosa, with the former Bachelor star due to face court over the matter.

According to 7News, police were called to an address on Hastings Street at around 9pm on Saturday following reports of alleged domestic violence, with Wood charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

Wood rose to fame as the Bachelor on Channel 10’s The Bachelor Australia in 2015, where he met his now-wife Snezana Markoski, with the couple’s relationship becoming one of the better-known success stories from the reality dating franchise.

He later went on to establish 28 by Sam Wood, building a prominent fitness brand that was sold for more than $71 million in 2022, while continuing to work in the industry and recently launching wellness start-up Ollo for Women

Wood has also remained a regular presence on Australian television since his reality TV debut, making appearances on breakfast and lifestyle programs including Sunrise to discuss fitness, nutrition and health trends.

Wood was recently in the news over a civil case brought by the Australian Taxation Office concerning an alleged $7.35 million unpaid tax debt, although he has previously said the majority of the amount had been paid and expected the matter to be resolved.

Wood was denied police bail and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
