Zarraffa’s Coffee has officially opened its Salisbury Downs store, marking the first of four former First Things First locations to reopen under the Queensland-founded coffee chain as it continues its expansion across Adelaide.
Located at 316 Salisbury Highway, the drive-through opened on Wednesday, October 14 and will be open from 5am to 8pm every day.
First Things First has been part of Adelaide’s coffee scene since 2015, when Aaron Box, James Carrigg and Hana Goltz opened the business’s first drive-through in Enfield. The locally founded brand built its reputation on combining specialty coffee with the convenience of drive-through service, before expanding across Adelaide’s northern and western suburbs.

In April 2025, Zarraffa’s acquired First Things First in a multi-million-dollar deal, paving the way for the Queensland chain’s entry into the South Australian market.
The refurbishment includes updates to the store and its operating systems, with customers able to access the chain’s signature freshly roasted specialty coffee, an expanded food and drink menu and its Z Card loyalty program.
The Salisbury Downs location had been temporarily closed since August 13 to allow for the conversion, with the reopening bringing several new additions for regular customers.
Alongside its specialty coffee range, Zarraffa’s offers its signature Fusion blended drinks, freshly baked treats and a selection of sweet and savoury food. A smaller drive-through format has been designed to accommodate the brand’s full food and beverage menu while maintaining a focus on convenience for customers on the go.
“We look forward to welcoming back the locals and introducing customers to the Zarraffa’s Coffee experience,” Zarraffa’s Coffee CEO Marnie Sheldon said.
“Our focus remains on respecting the connection customers have built with these stores and maintaining the local service and team relationships customers value.”
The Salisbury Downs opening follows Zarraffa’s first South Australian store at Munno Para, which the company said had been warmly received by Adelaide customers.
“That experience has reinforced the importance of efficient operational systems, a strong drive thru and customer service experience, as well as supporting local teams with the training and tools they need,” Sheldon said.
The rollout will expand Zarraffa’s presence across Adelaide’s northern suburbs, with more stores set to open across Holden Hill, Enfield, and Woodville Park.
“The positive response to our Munno Para store in Adelaide’s north has demonstrated a strong appetite for the brand and enabled us to build lasting connections with our customers,” Sheldon said.
The Salisbury Downs opening also coincides with Zarraffa’s 30th anniversary. Founded on the Gold Coast in 1996 by Kenton and Rachel Campbell, the business began as a small coffee roastery in Southport before expanding into a national franchise.
Today, Zarraffa’s operates more than 85 stores across Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria and South Australia, with Salisbury Downs becoming its second South Australian location.
“The Salisbury Downs and Holden Hill openings will allow us to serve more customers across the area and focus on delivering the quality, convenience and friendly service customers know and love about the Zarraffa’s Coffee brand.”
