A new gourmet toastie and specialty coffee spot is landing in Goolwa, with The Pittie Stop joining the well-known Juice Me Up and Studio 20 hub on Hutchinson Street.
The new grab-and-go offering will focus on loaded toasties, jaffles, specialty coffee using South Australian-roasted HARK beans and quick bites like muffins and protein balls.
The couple behind the venue, Vanessa and Luke, picked up that Goolwa was seriously lacking a spot where you could get great quality grab-and-go food that wasn’t just the from the local bakery.
“I mean there’s only so much of that you can eat,” Vanessa said.
“It wasn’t until I was absolutely craving a chicken pesto toastie, we drove around Goolwa and Middleton and thought we could get a burger alike.”
But it didn’t scratch her cravings of a warm, cheese pull, crunchy, chicken pesto toastie.
“It was our goal to establish a venue that offers quick gourmet toasties that are bursting with flavour and as for the coffee side we wanted to stand out from the rest.”
The coffee Vanessa is referring to is the use of HARK coffee roasters, a well known South Australian brand known for their air roasting technique over the traditional drum roasting.
“The beans are cooked from the inside out and it creates the perfect consistency without the bitterness.”
The Pittie Stop is being built around the kind of food people actually want when they are busy, hungry and not in the mood for another standard bakery stop. Think pastrami toasties, chicken pesto, nostalgic jaffles, golden toasted melts and of course coffee for even the early morning tradies.
“It’s the kind of place you can swing by in the morning or midday and know you’ll get something fresh, quick and genuinely good quality,” Vanessa said.
While The Pittie Stop is the newest name on the door, it’s actually part of a well estbalished kid on the block, Studio 20 Goolwa.
Studio 20 is a beauty and wellness spot, which opened over a year ago, offering a coastal retreat perfect for beauty services, luxury fashion and gifts. Also within the same venue is Juice Me Up, run by couple, Lauren and Adam, which has built a following for fresh juices made in Goolwa.
“They deliver juices daily, so everything is vibrant, cold-pressed, and actually tastes fresh, not bottled weeks ago,” Vanessa said. “You can expect a mix of fruit juices, green juices, and refreshing options that pair perfectly with coffee or as a lighter alternative.”
Together, the businesses are creating the kind of place locals can use in different ways. It might be a coffee and toastie before work, a fresh juice after an appointment, a quick lunch on the run or a stop-in while visiting Studio 20 for eyebrow waxing.
“It’s quick, local and built around quality without being overcomplicated.”
The Pittie Stop is a great place for just that, a quick pit stop to refuel your energy that’s not the servo with potentially dry sausage rolls and pasties.
“At The Pittie Stop we can guarantee everything we serve has been thoroughly thought through ensuring our customers won’t be disappointed,” Vanessa said.
“It’s not just another grab-and-go spot — everything is built around quality, consistency, and keeping things simple but done really well.”
