Walking into Hotel Panorama’s newest rooftop bar, is how we imagine Alice felt falling into Wonderland.
Except instead of going down the rabbit hole, the wonderland express takes you up four storeys to a twinkling, golden bar with eccentric elements spread into the interior.
From the twinkling bar and golden disco ball oven to the yellow tiled tables and warm table lighting, Wonderland rooftop bar seems to have many elements that, somehow, all work together.
It’s like looking through a kaleidoscope of colours, prints and sparkles.
Hotel Panorama General Manager Scott Oakley said Wonderland was designed to bring a fresh and
elevated hospitality experience to Adelaide’s suburbs.
“Wonderland has been created as a rooftop destination that feels vibrant, welcoming and a little
unexpected,” Scott said.
The team from Hotel Panorama said it’s the first rooftop bar of its kind to land in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.
“We wanted the space to feel immersive from the moment guests arrive, somewhere people can escape
to for cocktails, dinner, celebrations or simply to enjoy the atmosphere and views.”
Positioned above the group’s recently opened $60 million Hotel Panorama development on Goodwood
Road, Wonderland delivers sweeping views and stylish dining with cocktails and drinks with a playful and immersive rooftop atmosphere.
“One of the most special parts of Wonderland is the outlook across the coastline, city skyline and
Adelaide Hills, particularly as the sun goes down and the venue comes to life at night,” Scott said.
“The atmosphere changes throughout the evening, from relaxed afternoons and sunset drinks through
to a more energetic late-night experience, and that’s what makes the venue so unique.”
The design feels ‘transportive and energetic’ with booth seating featuring elephant patterns, statement mirrors that zig zag and a warm fire pit that may witness couple cuddling.
“Wonderland has been designed for everything from date nights and cocktails with friends through to
celebrations, long lunches, private events and late-night drinks overlooking the city lights.”
The menu centres more on snacks then full meals with things like Coffin Bay oysters with KI Wild Gin, Korean fried chicken with gochujang sauce and pickled daikon, and New Zealand Ora King salmon tacos with yuzu mayonnaise and crispy shallots.
Think indulgent snacks, share plates and stone-fired pizzas designed to pair perfectly with cocktails
Along with all the usual wine and cocktails, the bar also have specially curated ones such as their Wonder-Spritz, a fruity refreshing blend of 23rd Street raspberry and finger lime gin, grapefruit
bitters, berries, prosecco and soda.
The Bee’s Knee brings together Buffalo Trace bourbon, Disaronno, burnt honey, lemon and orange marmalade foam, while the Mandarin Negroni features Ambleside mandarin gin, Campari, rosso vermouth, bergamot bitters, blood orange sorbet and basil.
Wonderland officially opened on May 20 and invited it’s guest to be brave, have a little fun and get lost in the skyline views.
