Dubai Police Winter Courses Empower 500 Youth Students

Dubai Police has launched the eighth edition of its winter courses, welcoming 500 students aged 11 to 18 from both public and private schools across the city. The program highlights Dubai’s commitment to nurturing youth through comprehensive training and educational activities.

The participants come from 16 different nationalities, reflecting the diversity of the emirate’s community. This initiative is organized by Dubai Police through the Hemaya International Center at the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, in partnership with the Dubai Police Student Council and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Community Development Authority.

Promoting Positive Values and Awareness

Brigadier Khalid bin Mowaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police, emphasized that the winter courses reflect the police force’s dedication to investing in young people. The program is designed to build well-rounded personalities by keeping students engaged during school holidays with educational, training, and awareness activities.

He highlighted that the courses focus on instilling responsibility, self-discipline, national loyalty, and essential life skills. The program offers diverse activities tailored to students’ interests, including sports, cultural programs, military-style training, and technology-based learning.

Expanded Activities and Training Centers

First Lieutenant Khalil Mirza Ahli, Head of the Student Programs Section at the Hemaya International Centre, said this year’s edition stands out for its wide variety of activities and expanded training locations. Students are distributed across six centers covering all areas of Dubai, with four centers for boys and two for girls. This ensures a safe and suitable environment for all participants.

The program includes fitness and military training, the Emirati values program Al Sanaa, horse care courses, and engaging field activities such as the Rescue Heroes Challenge, cycling events, and open days at the Hemaya Activities Center in Al Qusais.

Educational Visits and Special Programs

Students also take part in educational trips to Al Shindagha Heritage Village, the Dubai Police Museum, Smart Police Stations, and the 901 call center. They enjoy interactive sessions such as K9 police dog demonstrations, enhancing both learning and entertainment.

Under the theme ‘Your Awareness is Protection,’ lectures focus on raising awareness about bullying, drug abuse, and cybercrime. These sessions reinforce teamwork, confidence, discipline, and positive behavior among students, ensuring they understand the importance of making safe and responsible choices.

Training Centers Across Dubai

The boys’ training centers include Zayed Educational Complex Al Khawaneej, Zayed Educational Complex Al Barsha South, Al Suhaili School, and Hatta 2 School. Girls’ centers are based at Zayed Educational Complex Al Warqa Girls and Zayed Educational Complex Al Barsha North.

With a mix of practical training, cultural experiences, and awareness sessions, the winter courses aim to equip students with life skills, discipline, and knowledge that will help them become responsible future leaders.

Building a Safe and Positive Community

Dubai Police’s winter courses serve as a bridge between education and practical life experience, promoting a safe and positive environment for youth. By offering meaningful activities during school breaks, the program helps protect students from negative influences while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

The 8th edition of the winter courses reflects Dubai Police’s ongoing commitment to empowering young minds, nurturing national values, and inspiring students to achieve excellence both academically and socially.
