The impact left the female driver of the white hatchback in shock with a passerby stopping to help as debris was scattered across the road and traffic banked up.

But that was only the beginning of the destruction.

The trail of carnage stretched 200 metres from Mount Lawley to Inglewood, with the black SUV totalled after colliding with a light pole.

Multiple businesses were impacted, from an Ampol servo to a local vet, with even another light pole was taken out.

Local cafe owner Ricky Jha was one of the first on the scene, describing the lengthy trail of destruction down the road.

In his decade of working in the area, Jha said this was a shocking first.

“It was very loud, like gunshots or something. It was pretty bad, like scary,” he said.

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee responsible is on the run.

“Obviously three or four people and they just ran in different directions,” Jha said.

While one driver miraculously escaped injury, police are now searching for those responsible.
