Dr Samina Haq’s Claim About Female Hostel Residents Spark Online Debate

Dr. Samina Haq is a top-rated Pakistani gynecologist and IVF/ICSI specialist with over 30 years of experience. Besides her medical career, she is also a renowned public speaker who frequently appears on digital and social media platforms. Dr. Samina also speaks about social issues, particularly anti-Islamic social behaviours and young people’s inclination towards sinful acts.

In one of her recent podcasts with Main Arsalan, Dr. Samina Haq made a controversial claim about young women who move from small cities to larger cities for education or employment.

Dr. Samina Haq claimed, “Majority young women who have moved from small towns to big cities and are living in hostels while pursuing higher education or employment are earning through other means. During the day, they attend university or work regular jobs, but at night, they earn through other means. The majority are doing this.” Watch here:

Her blunt and to-the-point claims have sparked a debate on social media, with the majority agreeing with her while a few are criticizing the senior gynecologist for her remarks. One wrote, “It is a blame on gentle girls and their families.” Another commented, “Don’t say such things, as it will discourage parents from sending their girls to other cities for their future.” Another said, “Dr. Samina Haq is a responsible and sensible lady with a highly respectable family background. She must be talking about these hard facts on some basis. You may agree or disagree.” One wrote, “Parents should care for their children and keep a close eye on them.” Another commented, “Some girls use boys for their fashion and finances and get into bad habits.” Another asked, “What about wardens? Are they fulfilling their duties?” Read the comments:
