A black Women’s NBA star has appeared to blame “white privilege” after being sent off for smacking gender-critical rival Sophie Cunningham in the face.
Chicago Sky forward DiJonai Carrington left her opposition sprawled on the floor after a rough challenge at the end of the first quarter.
Indiana Fever star Cunningham, 29, was on her way in for a layup with Carrington in pursuit – before the latter came barging in from behind.
That sparked a fight on-court as Cunningham’s teammates came to her aid.
Then, the 29-year-old rose to her feet, appearing to bellow: “Why the f**k did you do that” as her co-stars backed her up.
Referees eventually had to separate the pair as tensions flared.
After review, Carrington’s foul was upgraded to a Flagrant 2 for excessive severe contact, leaving her heading to the changing rooms in disgrace.
Post-match, Carrington, 28, bristled on social media: “WHITE PRIVILEGE,” tagging the Fever.

The Sky star has previously drawn fire for her violent conduct.
Carrington struck Caitlin Clark – another Fever player – in the eye while defending a pass during the 2024 playoffs, leaving her with a black eye.
She insists she’s simply an aggressive player and always tries to play the ball.
But off-field, she has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump, wearing sweatshirts condemning him and urging WNBA players to fight against the White House’s policies affecting women and the LGBT community.

The spat comes amid a bitter – and growing – trans row engulfing the league.
Two former men’s NBA stars have come out to claim they are transgender and have announced they will compete in the WNBA.
Six-foot-eight Royce White told Fox News he was planning to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, just after six-foot-10 Enes Kanter Freedom mockingly did the same.
“I’m transgender. I’m a woman,” White jabbed. “I identify as sometimes identifying as a woman for purpose of basketball, professional basketball, so I’ll be declaring for the WNBA draft in 2027 as well.”

And in a challenge to woke organisers, the ex-Sacramento Kings man said the the league could only stop his challenge by clearly outlining its position on men playing in women’s sports.
Cunningham, a Christian, has long sparked fury on the left for her view that transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete in girls’ and women’s sports.
“I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I’m like: ‘I never once said that,'” Cunningham vowed. “I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest.
“I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”
