Day 4 of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 shapes as a decisive night for Australia, with local athletes spread across cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing and short track speed skating as comprehensive live coverage continues across Nine Entertainment platforms.
Australians will feature early in the Cross-Country Skiing – Women’s and Men’s Sprint Classic Qualification, with Hugo Hinckfuss, Lars Young Vik, Ellen Søhol Lie and Maddie Hooker all lining up in the high-intensity sprint format. The event is being staged in Val di Fiemme, marking the first Olympic Games where men and women compete over identical cross-country distances.
Speed skating attention then turns to Short Track Speed Skating – Men’s 1000m Heats, where Brendan Corey represents Australia. Corey enters the event as the national record holder in the distance and is coached by Richard Nizielski, a member of Australia’s historic 1994 Winter Olympic relay team.

Freestyle skiing takes centre stage later in the night with Men’s Mogul Qualifications, featuring Matt Graham, Cooper Woods, Jackson Harvey and George Murphy. Graham, a four-time Olympian and PyeongChang 2018 silver medallist, is joined by Woods, who finished sixth on debut at Beijing 2022, while Harvey and Murphy are making their Olympic debuts.
The moguls program continues into the early hours with Women’s Moguls Qualification, where defending Olympic champion Jakara Anthony competes alongside Emma Bosco and Charlotte Wilson. Anthony arrives in Milano Cortina as the reigning Olympic gold medallist from Beijing 2022, while Wilson enters the Games after being named 2025 FIS Mogul Skiing Rookie of the Year.
Beyond Australian interest, Day 4 also includes major medal and milestone events, including the Women’s Team Combined in alpine skiing, the Mixed Doubles Curling Bronze and Gold Medal Games, and the fast-paced Short Track Speed Skating Mixed Team Relay. Ice hockey, biathlon, luge, figure skating and ski jumping also feature throughout the packed schedule.
