A familiar face is back on screen and behind the scenes, with David Robinson returning to Seven in Queensland after time away from the industry.
Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Robinson has stepped into a dual role within the 7 News Queensland newsroom, working across both production and on air duties in multiple regional markets.
The experienced producer and presenter joins as Assistant Supervising Producer, while also fronting early afternoon and late news updates from the network’s Maroochydore studios.

Speaking about the new role, Robinson said landing the job at Seven Queensland marks a full circle moment after years working across the industry.
“I’m absolutely thrilled.”
He said the move also carries a personal connection to the Sunshine Coast, recalling childhood trips past the very studio he now works in.
“It really is a dream come true.”
Many will recognise Robinson from his time at Network 10, where he worked in children’s television before moving to Studio 10 and later becoming a roving reporter.
He also spent time at the ABC, before stepping back from full time media work to work outside the industry while continuing occasional freelance roles, making this a return to both the industry and Seven.
Closer to home, Robinson has also been part of TV Blackbox, appearing on the Ben, Rob & Robbo Show and its later iteration with Anjali Rao, along with the site’s podcast.
Chookas, David!
