Dave’s Hot Chicken opened in Terminal B on Wednesday, announced MarketPlace Logan, which manages the concessions program at Logan Airport. It is the fast casual restaurant’s second airport location in the U.S. and the first on the East Coast.
“You spoke and we listened,” said Massport CEO Rich Davey in a social media video taken at Dave’s Hot Chicken at Logan on Wednesday. “Stepping up our food, beverage, and retail game.”
Menu items include chicken sliders, bites, and tenders, as well as fries. Customers choose from the following seven heat levels for their chicken: no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper. Breakfast is served as well and includes items such as burritos and sandwiches and chicken and waffles.
Dave’s Hot Chicken debuted in 2017, when three childhood friends in their 20s with $900 and a dream began serving chicken made with a portable fryer in a parking lot in East Hollywood. With the help of social media, the late-night pop-up created a buzz.
“Then, the buzz brought a reporter from EATER/LA,” the owners wrote on the restaurant’s website. “He took a bite of his first Dave’s Hot Chicken tender, and our world changed. The next day he posted, ‘East Hollywood’s New Late Night Hot Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind.’”
Today, the company has celebrity investors such as Drake and Samuel L. Jackson and about 400 locations across the U.S., including in New England. Two new Massachusetts locations opened last month in Marlborough and Hadley.
Dave’s Hot Chicken at Logan is open from 7 a.m. until 30 minutes before the last flight.
