There are plenty more seaside secrets and suspicious deaths ahead for Murder In A Small Town, with the cozy crime drama officially renewed for a third season.
Deadline reports that U.S. network Fox has handed the Canadian mystery another 10 episode run, while The O.C. favourite Peter Gallagher is set to join the series as a regular alongside returning leads Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk.
Airing on Seven and 7plus in Australia, the coastal mystery debuted with an eight episode first season in late 2024 before returning in late 2025 with an expanded 10 episode run that was fast-tracked for local viewers across streaming and free-to-air.

Season 3 will introduce Gallagher as Rod Finlayson, a charismatic but unpredictable newcomer whose arrival at the Gibsons marina is expected to stir up fresh complications for detective Karl Alberg and librarian Cassandra Lee.
Brooke Bowman, EVP of Drama Programming & Development at Fox Television Network, said the broadcaster was looking forward to continuing the series alongside its returning cast and new addition Peter Gallagher.
“We love bringing this cozy and delightful mystery to Fox fans, and we’re thrilled Murder in a Small Town has continued to resonate with our audience.”
The series, based on L.R. Wright’s Alberg and Cassandra mystery novels, is filmed in British Columbia, Canada, and produced by Sepia Films in association with Fox Entertainment and Future Shack Entertainment.
Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk lead the coastal mystery, with Ian Weir, Amanda Tapping, Morris Ruskin and Sharon Wisnia serving as executive producers.
No premiere details for the third season of Murder In A Small Town have been revealed yet, but viewers can catch up on the first two seasons in full now on 7plus.
