The Chainsaw Man anime is continuing with a new installment, titled Chainsaw Man: Assassins. The news was revealed alongside a teaser trailer and visual at the Jump Festa 2026 earlier today. Studio MAPPA will be animating the sequel.
The same studio also animated the first season of the TV anime under Ryu Nakamura’s direction and the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc film with Tatsuya Yoshihara as the director. The film was released earlier this year. The Assassins sequel will adapt the “International Assassins” arc from the manga, as evidenced by characters appearing in the promotional materials.
The Chainsaw Man anime adapts the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, currently serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine. VIZ Media licenses the manga in English.
Crunchyroll is streaming the first season of the anime and describes the plot as follows:
Denji is a young boy who works as a Devil Hunter with the “Chainsaw Devil” Pochita.
One day, as he was living his miserable life trying to pay off the debt he inherited from his parents, he got betrayed and killed. As he was losing his consciousness, he made a deal with Pochita, and got resurrected as the “Chainsaw Man”: the owner of the Devil’s heart.
The same platform also hosts the two-part compilation movie, released before Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc’s premiere in Japan. The film, which grossed over 100 million USD worldwide, is available to stream on Prime Video.
