The NBA has released its full 2026-27 schedule, and with it comes the Boston Celtics’ schedule. Every marquee matchup. Every return game. Every road trip, every homestand, and everything in between.
Rather than going over the entire schedule in detail, as the full list is pictured above, I figured I would highlight some of the most notable games and stretches. So, here are the top five:
1. Jaylen Brown’s return game
The Celtics travel to Philadelphia for the first time on November 10, but Jaylen Brown‘s long-awaited return to TD Garden won’t happen until the new year. The Philadelphia 76ers’ first trip to Boston will be on January 21.
Boston and Philadelphia square off twice in the preseason, so Brown will have been back at least once. But that’s not the same. The tribute video will have to wait.
That game — Brown’s return on January 21 — will be in the middle of a six-game homestand for the Celtics. They’ll play the Indiana Pacers, the 76ers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Toronto Raptors, the LA Clippers, and the Phoenix Suns.
Every year, the Celtics embark on a wild West Coast trip, and it’s usually around the new year. This season is no different. They’ll head West for five straight games at the start of January, and that’s after a quick pit stop in Chicago.
In all, the Celtics will endure a six-game road trip at the turn of the year. That trip includes a back-to-back against the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers, too. Luckily for Boston, it ends with two straight games against both LA teams, so they can settle in by the beach.
When do the Celtics play the most games against bad competition? Well, they play two games against the Milwaukee Bucks at the start of November.
After taking on the Dallas Mavericks on November 30 — a projected West bottom-feeder — they’ll have to play the Charlotte Hornets, but after that, they’ll play the Washington Wizards twice in a row, followed by the Utah Jazz.
But no, the answer lies in the heart of March. They play the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and Brooklyn Nets within the span of four games. They’ll need to avoid getting complacent then.
What about the opposite? When do the Celtics play the stiffest competition? With how much talent is around the league this year, it’s hard to identify a single stretch. Great teams are littered throughout Boston’s schedule.
