“We are keeping both students and their families in our thoughts, and wish them a fast and full recovery.”

The Carver Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a pickup truck involved in a hit and run that injured two high school students on Thursday.

Around 7:20 a.m., Carver police received a report from a driver with Old Colony Bus Company who witnessed two 16-year-olds be injured by a passing vehicle on Forest Street, the department said in a press release. Both of the teens are students at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School in Rochester, police said.

The students were waiting for the school bus, which was approaching the stop with its yellow warning lights on, when both students were struck by the side mirror of a dark-colored pickup truck with LED lights, police said. The vehicle then drove off.

One of the teens was transported to a local hospital by their family for treatment and was later released, police said. The other teen was later brought to a local hospital for treatment, and their status was not shared.

“We are keeping both students and their families in our thoughts, and wish them a fast and full recovery. We encourage members of the community to assist the Carver Police Department with their investigation in any way possible,” said Aaron Polansky, superintendent-director of Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School in Rochester.

Anyone with information or who was in the area of Forest Street around the time of the incident should call Carver Police Detective Joshua Shaw at 508-866-2000 x1612, police said.
