Browns bold predictions for 2026 NFL Draft class during rookie season

The 2026 NFL Draft might have served as a turning point for the Cleveland Browns’ franchise. Fresh off a five-win season, Cleveland needed to nail the draft. They did just that by selecting multiple impact prospects who can compete right away. The team needed an injection of talent along the offensive line, some defensive reinforcements, and more talent for their offensive attack. They secured all of this, but what can be predicted from this rookie class during their first season?

Two rookie receivers will surpass the 45-reception mark

After bolstering their offensive line with the first round selection of Spencer Fano, the Browns double-dipped at receiver with their next two picks. The Browns were able to pick KC Concepcion 24th overall before they selected Denzel Boston with the 39th pick. The Browns had to double up on pass catchers early because there was a clear need there, so both of these rookies will have a route to early opportunity.

Cleveland ranked just 31st in passing yards last season. Tight end Harold Fannin led the team with 72 receptions for 731 yards, and Jerry Jeudy had 50 catches for 602 yards. The next highest-production wide receiver was Cedric Tillman, who had just 21 catches and 270 yards.

Cleveland will be deploying young quarterbacks who need all of the help they can get this year. Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders were the 41st and 42nd starting quarterbacks for the team since 1999 during their rookie years, and neither of them were all that impressive in year one. The Browns drafted Taylen Green this year, too, and it isn’t quite clear who will be under center in 2026-27. Perhaps even Deshaun Watson will be in the running after a long battle with injuries.

Regardless, adding pass-catching talent will help take the burden off of the shoulders of whoever quarterbacks the team going forward. Concepcion is a physical receiver who can rack up yards after the catch. He will pair nicely with a route-running specialist like Jeudy. Boston is more of a possession receiver who can serve as a bail-out option for Cleveland’s quarterbacks due to his huge catch radius.

The Browns’ receiving corps is a whole lot more well-rounded now. Both of these rookie receivers could surpass the 45-catch threshold next season. There are targets to be had in Cleveland, and Concepcion and Boston should impact the offense immediately.

The Browns will have a top-10 offensive line

While surrounding their quarterbacks with weapons was important for the Browns, the bigger concern was ensuring they have ample time to throw the ball. Sanders, in particular, is a great playmaker, but he holds onto the ball for a long time, so the Browns need to have elite offensive line play going forward.

Even during down years, Cleveland’s protection was great for a long time, but the team has taken a few steps back in the trenches in recent years. The Browns have completely revamped what was an old and regressing offensive line this offseason. Tytus Howard was traded for, and the Browns signed Elgton Jenkins and Zion Johnson in free agency.

The Browns didn’t stop revamping the offensive line there. They took Fano in round one of the 2026 NFL Draft before adding Austin Barner (round three) and Parker Brailsford (round five) in later rounds. Fano is slated to start at left tackle right away. Barber might serve as the swing tackle to start his career, but Howard’s injury history could thrust him into duty sooner rather than later. Barber’s presence could even allow Jenkins to play his more natural guard position, too.

This massive overhaul of the offensive line will pay off in dividends for the Browns. They will go from one of the worst units in the NFL to one of the best in the matter of one season. The Browns’ quarterbacks will reap the rewards, as will the young backfield of Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson.
