Brooklyn Beckham was only trying to help wife Nicola Peltz on the red carpet, but her reaction has left fans wondering if he made the wrong move.
The couple were attending the Deauville American Film Festival in France on September 8 when Brooklyn, 27, stepped in to help arrange the train of his wife’s gown.
Video from the event shows the pair posing together and sharing a kiss before Brooklyn moves to the side to allow Peltz to have her moment in front of the cameras.

But before making his exit, he carefully rearranges the train of her Alberta Ferretti dress behind her.
Peltz then appears to shoot her husband an icy look as he stands off to the side and naturally, social media users had plenty to say about it.
“Is he her butler now?” someone joked on X.
“Oof she hates him,” someone else said.
Others thought the internet was reading far too much into a husband simply helping his wife with her dress.
“I thought it was sweet,” one user said.
The quick exchange has attracted extra attention amid Brooklyn’s ongoing estrangement from his famous family.
The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham has become increasingly distant from his parents and siblings following a long-running family feud that has centred heavily around his relationship with Peltz.
Brooklyn married the actress in a lavish Palm Beach wedding in 2022 and the pair renewed their vows in 2025.
He has since publicly accused his parents of interfering in his marriage, including claiming they attempted to “hijack” the couple’s first dance at their wedding.
The family fallout has seen Brooklyn distance himself from David and Victoria as well as younger siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn and Peltz have continued to put on a united front, regularly sharing loved-up posts and public appearances together.
Despite the internet deciding one red carpet glance could spell trouble, the couple appeared affectionate earlier in the very same appearance, kissing and embracing as they posed for photographers.
