The Bright Agency, an international illustration, literary, and brand agency, is expanding Bright Literary, its division for author representation. Per an announcement, “The division will grow its global roster to include authors up to YA and adult nonfiction, content creators, and storytellers across both children’s and adult publishing.”
In a statement, CEO and founder Vicki Willden-Lebrecht emphasized that working with authors is not new terrain for the Bright Agency, which was founded in 2003. Bright Literary will continue to operate as a distinct entity within the group.
As part of the expansion, Georgia Tournay-Godfrey has been promoted to head of literary, tasked with leading Bright Literary’s strategy and the growth of its author list, which will include adult publishing, in collaboration with the company’s licensing, film and TV teams. Tournay-Godfrey joined Bright as an agent’s assistant on the illustration side before becoming an agent, with a list that includes nonfiction, picture books, graphic novels, and fiction for young readers.
Supporting Tournay-Godfrey in her new role is Sylvie Norman-Taylor, who is being promoted to agent’s assistant.
Led by brand partnerships director Paul Black, Bright Literary will also represent content creators.
