An encounter broke out in the Keran sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district early on Saturday after Army personnel challenged a group of armed infiltrators. The gunfight took place at around 3.40 am.
Following the firefight, security forces launched an intensive search operation to sanitise the area and ascertain whether any infiltrator had managed to cross in.
Additional troops were mobilised to strengthen the operation as it continued.
