The South Australian Government has released figures showing the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final generated an estimated $100.7 million economic benefit for the state, marking the first time the event has passed the $100 million mark.

According to the figures, the result represents an almost 40 per cent increase on the 2024 event, which recorded a $72.6 million economic benefit. The government says the rise was driven by stronger interstate and international visitation, longer stays and increased visitor spending, including across accommodation.

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final was held from November 27 to 30 under the event’s new Grand Final format, with bp joining as naming rights partner. The event attracted an estimated 285,700 attendees, up from 259,400 in 2024.

More than 23 per cent of attendees were from interstate or overseas, with visitor numbers from outside South Australia rising from 54,028 in 2024 to 66,462 in 2025. Total visitor nights also increased to 183,366.

The government says millions more are expected to flow into South Australia from 2026, with the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix moving from Victoria to Adelaide next year. The event will mark the return of international racing to the original Adelaide Grand Prix Street Circuit.

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final also recorded a Sunday attendance of 102,200 people, with the government noting the crowd was larger than either of the AFL or NRL grand finals. The majority of Sunday attendees also stayed for the AC/DC concert.

The bp Adelaide Grand Final has been secured in Adelaide until 2034 under an agreement between the State Government and Supercars. Preparations are already underway for the 2026 event, which will run from Thursday November 26 to Sunday November 29.

The 2026 event will again serve as the Grand Final of the Repco Supercars Championship, featuring four days of racing on Adelaide’s street circuit. Guns N’ Roses will headline the Sunday concert on November 29.

“The bp Adelaide Grand Final continues to deliver huge wins for the South Australian economy,” Premier Peter Malinauskas said.

“Since we brought it back four years ago, this great event attracts more interstate and overseas visitors to South Australia every year.

“Our major events strategy is delivering a clear return for our economy, helping us to fund other important projects in areas including health and housing.

“Visitors to these events are seeing what our great state has to offer and spending record amounts of money while they’re here.

“We’re excited for another high energy event in 2026 with Guns N’ Roses headlining the Sunday concert.”
