Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying a second juvenile in connection with the armed robbery of a children’s lemonade stand in South Boston last month.

On Thursday, investigators released surveillance photos of the unidentified suspect, who is seen wearing black pants, a black hat, no shirt, and carrying a black backpack. Police didn’t release details about the individual, but asked that anyone with information come forward.

The new photos come three weeks after a 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the robbery. The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on two counts of armed robbery and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, police said.

The alleged robbery happened the afternoon of June 10 on West Ninth Street, where brother and sister David Byrne, 12, and Juliette Byrne, 11, were running a lemonade stand.

According to police, two young males approached the stand after making several passes through the area. They asked whether the stand accepted Apple Pay before allegedly grabbing the cash box. Investigators said one of the suspects displayed what appeared to be a black firearm tucked into his waistband before the pair fled on foot.

The cash box was later found empty. Authorities have not said how much money was missing.

The robbery drew widespread attention and prompted an outpouring of community support. The siblings reopened the lemonade stand, drawing neighbors, city officials, and residents. Mayor Michelle Wu attended the event, and Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn said half of the proceeds would be donated to a local organization working to prevent gun violence.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the second suspect or has information about the robbery to contact Boston Police District C-6 Detectives at 617-343-4742.
