An investigation is underway after a body was discovered near a highway in a famous Australian gold mining town.
Emergency services were called to Goldfields Hwy in Kalgoorlie, 600km east of Perth, about 10am on Friday.
The grim find was made near Roberts St and police have searched bushland in the area, according to the Kalgoorlie Miner.
Authorities are yet to reveal details about the person’s age and gender.

WA Police have launched an investigation into the death, and have appealed for information or vision from potential witnesses.
