A woman already facing court over the death of a five year old child in an alleged stabbing attack in the Blue Mountains will now face a second murder charge following the death of a second child, aged just one, in hospital.
Emergency services were called to reports of a vehicle found on Waratah Road in Valley Heights, where three children and a woman were allegedly discovered inside with stab wounds.
Blue Mountains police officers at the scene were told several members of the public performed first aid on the woman, 42, and three children whilst contacting Triple Zero.

A 5-year-old child was found dead in the vehicle, according to police.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the two other children – aged 1 and 3 – and the woman before they were taken to hospital.
Strike Force Kerlo was formed to investigate the incident.
The woman was charged with with murder (DV) and two counts of cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder (DV).
Tragically, police were notified that the 1-year-old child had died in hospital on Thursday.
The 3-year-old child remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The woman will face an additional charge of murder over the death of the one-year-old child. She is next due to appear before Penrith Local Court on Friday 20 November 2026.
