BIG BROTHER makes a song and dance in new promo, confirms October return

The tongue-in-cheek campaign pokes fun at the show’s move into its new Brisbane home, as first revealed by TV Blackbox, while also giving viewers a few reminders of the previous season.

That includes the washing machines which became a memorable feature of last year’s house, while the song celebrates the new home having a roof, promises the return of live-stream cameras and teases plenty of chaos once the new housemates arrive.

And then there’s the song and dance.

Mel T delivers the big musical number, teasing that the housemates are in for “shock after shock after shock after shock” before warning they’ll “blow a fuse” when Big Brother lets loose — who knew she could sing?

The deliberately over-the-top production has already prompted plenty of discussion online, with viewers questioning the apparent use of AI-generated video throughout the promo.

From some of the dancers and street scenes to a particularly artificial-looking goldfish, much of the campaign has a distinctly AI-assisted aesthetic, with one social media commenter even likening the whole thing to Desperate Housewives: The Musical.

Whether that was the intended vibe or not, it certainly got people talking

The return will also mark the first season of Big Brother Australia filmed inside the show’s new Brisbane home, after the network made a big song and dance about its return to Dreamworld last year.

The promo ends with Mel belting out “This October”, confirming the reality show will return to 10 next month.
