Polka dots are back in circulation, and Bhumi Pednekkar’s latest look doesn’t try to strip them of their retro appeal. Styled by Bidipto Das, the actor wore a brown Rosie Assoulin dress that played into the print’s vintage associations through a one-shoulder shape.
The dress featured an all-over polka dot pattern, with the shoulder bow reversing the brown-and-cream palette on a lighter fabric. The fitted bodice left most of the volume to the bow, which curved across one shoulder and softened the severity of the one-shoulder cut.
Pednekkar wore the look with pearl drop earrings by Anāash, which worked with the old-school feel of the dress rather than breaking away from it. Pushkin Bhasin styled her hair away from her face while the makeup look stayed in warm tones, with full lashes, winged liner and a muted lip that matched the chocolate tones of the dress.
Polka dots have been showing up across celebrity wardrobes, from Demi Moore’s Jacquemus dress at Cannes 2026 to Tamannaah Bhatia in Torani and Gwyneth Paltrow’s lime-green Valentino dress at the maison’s fall 2026 showcase in Rome. The print has moved beyond summer dresses and daywear into red carpets, runway appearances and occasion dressing, where designers are using it through oversized proportions, contrasting palettes, bow details and even running through accessories.
