Bhagwant Mann lays foundation for Rs 14.63 crore sports stadium in Sangrur

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Thursday, laid the foundation of a modern sports stadium that will be built at a cost of Rs 14.63 crore.

Spanning across 4.63 acres, this sports stadium will offer professional training facilities and host a wide range of sports, including badminton, handball, judo, netball, basketball, volleyball, football, gymnastics, kabaddi and karate, a PTI report said.

“The stadium will have a 200-metre athletic track, pavilion for spectators and players and a multipurpose indoor sports hall,” Mann said

“It is a historic day for the region as this stadium is coming up at a cost of Rs 14.63 crore. This stadium will be constructed over an area of 4.38 acres, and the complex will host various sporting activities,” he added.

Reaffirming the Punjab government’s focus on youth development, Mann said, “It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that the Punjab government is successfully providing world-class facilities for education and sports.”

MANN INAUGURATED COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE

In a separate incident, Mann also inaugurated a new community health centre in the Kohriyan village of Sangrur district. After the inauguration ceremony, Mann said that the newly-opened centre would serve people from 85 villages and they would not feel the need to rush to cities for their treatment. ‘

“Now, villagers will not have to rush to cities for specialist doctors, 4 OPDs, modern operation theatres, a laboratory, and X-ray facilities. All medicines, tests, and maternal-child services will be provided completely free of charge here,” Mann said through a post on X.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader further added that the hospital offers 24-hour emergency services and the facility of an OOAT centre for de-addiction.

“The main objective of our government is to deliver health services to every home. We deliver on what we say. Our steps continue to move forward steadily towards building a healthy Punjab,” he further added.
