The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted a one-day extension to the No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) of fast bowlers Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam, allowing them to continue participating in the ongoing 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The extension enables both players to remain in Pakistan for one additional match with Peshawar Zalmi on April 13. The decision was made following requests from the franchise and the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Initially, the BCB had issued NOCs valid until April 12. With the revised approval, the players will now depart after the April 13 fixture and are expected to join Bangladesh’s ODI squad on April 14.
The national team is currently preparing for an upcoming ODI series against New Zealand national cricket team. Bangladesh recently named an unchanged 15-member squad for the first two matches, maintaining the same group that secured a 2–1 home series victory over Pakistan.
The selection panel, led by Habibul Bashar, confirmed the squad, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz continuing as captain.
The first two ODIs are scheduled to take place in Dhaka on April 17 and 20, followed by the third match in Chattogram on April 23.
Despite the recent series win, concerns remain over the form of Saif Hassan and Afif Hossain. During the Pakistan series, the two players recorded average scores of 17.33 and 19.00 respectively across three innings.
