A young waiter has turned into an unlikely internet star in Lahore after social media users noticed his uncanny resemblance to Pakistan batter Babar Azam.
The man, who recently came to the city from his village for work, is now drawing crowds at a food spot ironically named Rizwan Burger, where customers routinely stop him for selfies, often calling him “Babar” instead of using his real name.
The viral clip shows the lookalike speaking casually about how the attention snowballed almost overnight. He says relatives back in the village had long teased him for looking like Babar Azam, but he didn’t take it seriously until he arrived in Lahore, where the resemblance became a daily conversation starter.
In the video, the waiter explains that the nickname has followed him into his workplace. He says staff members don’t even address him by name anymore and customers also walk in already convinced they’re about to meet the cricketer’s double.
The clip also captures people lining up at the restaurant for photos, with the lookalike trying to balance his job with the constant requests. At one point, he suggests he is there to work, but the selfie rush keeps interrupting his routine.
When asked what message he would give to Babar Azam, the lookalike keeps it simple: he wants Babar to meet him in person. He also backs the Pakistan star to come good again, suggesting Babar will perform strongly in the future, while brushing off questions about why the real Babar hasn’t been at his best.

Meanwhile, the real Babar Azam is set for a high-stakes outing in what could be Pakistan’s final T20 World Cup 2026 game. Pakistan are heading into a must-win match against Sri Lanka in Kandy, with their semi-final hopes hanging by a thread.
Pakistan not only need to win, they may need to win big to improve their Net Run Rate and stay ahead of rivals, keeping their campaign alive as the tournament heads into its decisive phase.
