Australian Legend Says No to PSL 11 ‘Cringe’ Trend in Viral Video

Hyderabad Kingsmen Head Coach Jason Gillespie goes viral with a cheeky dig at all the other PSL 11 franchises.

With the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) just around the corner, franchises have ramped up their social media game, particularly with stylized arrival videos of overseas stars.

However, what once felt fresh has now started to wear thin, with fans increasingly calling out the slow-motion airport and hotel lobby clips as repetitive and uninspired.

The new PSL franchise, Hyderabad Kingsmen, decided to flip the script entirely.

In a video that has quickly gone viral, the Hyderabad Kingsmen took a direct jab at the trend, featuring head coach Jason Gillespie in a refreshingly different setup.

Instead of the usual dramatic entrance, the camera is seen searching for Gillespie in a hotel lobby, only to find him casually standing on a balcony above.

Breaking the fourth wall, Jason Gillespie waves at the camera and refuses to play along. In a cheeky remark, he tells the cameraman he has no intention of coming down, joking that he knows exactly what they’re trying to film.

He dismisses the idea of shooting “one of those” overdone arrival videos, adding that he has more important things to focus on before walking off with a lighthearted thumbs-up.

What makes the clip stand out is its minimalistic, almost mockumentary-style execution, no dramatic music, no flashy edits, reminiscent of a deadpan, The Office-style humor that lands perfectly.

The internet has responded in kind. Fans have praised the Kingsmen for their originality, with many appreciating the subtle dig at other franchises and the decision to break away from overused content formulas.

As PSL 11 approaches, Hyderabad Kingsmen have already made one thing clear: they’re not here to follow trends, they’re here to set them.
